Sampson Yahans- Evening Classes in Besease

22 Apr 2009
From our eyes these classes are a complete success. There are individual cases in particular that astound me. Joseph Essuman has never been to school and because of that is well behind all of his peers. He is 16 but is in Group A which usually exists for Kindergarten and Primary 1 and 2 level. Just this year he has learnt all of the sounds and is beginning to read. He has excelled in Maths which has amazed us all considering he has had no educational base as on his parent’s orders, he spends his days farming.

What follows are two different perspectives from my own; Sampson’s and a volunteer’s who spends time at the Thursday evening class every week.

Sampson’s Perspective

“It is an undeniable fact that children are the potential future assets of every nation in touch. Since they can only be responsible when they are educated, that is why I come to help them achieve their full academic ability. I have carefully organized evening classes/studies for children from KG up to primary class 4 with the aim of helping them to perform splendidly at school and to equip them and broaden their minds in order to produce good results and become responsible citizens of a noble community.

It is interesting to notice that when pupils from the community attend similar schools in the neighboring community, they produce unquestionable results. I therefore conclude that if these pupils are given the necessary support and encouragement then all the children in Besease will perform excellently.
