The Final days in Egyeikrom!
We have experienced many relaxing days recently, with our trip to the beach on Sunday (involving a lot of sunburn). We finished the library on Monday morning, followed by some more time at the beach in the afternoon. All of our project work and aims have been completed, so yesterday we handed over our work to the school and community in a handover ceremony, where Mr Machin made a speech, followed by Egyeikrom’s headteacher Daniel. We also enjoyed a song, some dancing and a drama piece by some of the students. We got to see their cadets parade as well.
We presented the school with gifts for the children to play with and in return they presented us with a stool (for a chief!) This was all finished off with a meal of groundnut soup and rice which was enjoyed by all.
Having spent our last night in Egyeikrom (no more cockerels!) we now are packing up camp to move onto the rainforest and canopy walkway! We will then return to Stumble Inn for our last night in Ghana!
On a more practical note- Charlotte Luckraft has misplaced some malerone tablets and asks if her mum could get her some more for when she gets back home.
See you all soon!!
